Robert Lucas Pearsall
Collection of musical compositions-many of them rough drafts or sketches-works on music, and other writings, by Robert Lucas Pearsall, of Willsbridge House, in Bitton, co. Glouc., and afterwards of Wartensee Castle, near St. Gall, in Switzerland. Chiefly autograph, or in the hands of the writer's daughter, Philippa Swinnerton (wife of John Hughes, of Gwerclas and Kymmer, co. Merioneth), who has added many explanatory notes. The collection includes vocal works; instrumental works; arrangements and adaptations from other Madrigal-writers; sacred music; transcriptions by his daughter.
