Collections Overview
The Library's objective is to support teaching, learning and research activities throughout the School. All its staff have a specialist subject knowledge of, and an interest in, music or drama. The present library stock totals over 80,000 items. Recent innovations have been the provision of the daily broadsheet newspapers in the Library, and the expansion of the video collection. The Library has also introduced unlimited access to the RILM database and the New Grove Online. The Library's core subject coverage embraces music (classical, jazz, world), musicology, music therapy, acting, theatre history, stage management and social history. These subjects are represented by a comprehensive collection of reference and lending copies of plays, poetry, scores, sets of chamber music parts, over 800 videos and DVDs and over 6,000 sound recordings.
